How to Play Knuckles in Outcome Memories Recreation
Knuckles is the selfish melee answer when the lobby needs a stunner who can also eat a hit. He is not Mighty’s Protect button and he is not Sonic’s horizon. He is a fist, a counter window, and a glide that gets nerfed every time people forget the wall limit.
Original Outcome Memories taught Knuckles as punch plus counter with a glide / wall-cling passive shared in spirit with Sonic’s stun-extension habits. Recreation still queues that kit shape even when remesh passes land after a restart. Read this next to the survivors page and the survivor tier list so you stop instalocking him into a laser hallway like he is a free Sonic.
Primal’s under-a-minute breakdown is the original-OM muscle memory: hold punch to charge (burnout on a full charge), counter for a ~3s stun if the executioner hits the window, glide off walls with a limited cling count after nerfs. Recreation keeps those verbs. Timing after a restart can still feel like a different character — warm up before you claim the tier list “lied.”
Kit verbs that actually win rounds
- Charged punch — hold to ramp damage and burnout pressure. Whiffing a full charge in the open is a free M1 for 2011X.
- Counter — bait a commit, then punish. Air counter into a glide read is legal; spamming counter on cooldown is not.
- Glide / wall cling — vertical escape and chase break. After cling nerfs you only get a few sticks — count them.
- Stun extension — landing stun while the killer is already stunned feeds team value the same way Sonic’s kit does. Save it for a save, not ego.
Knuckles farms value in 1v1s and doorway peels. He is weaker when the executioner never commits — Tripwire mine games, Lord X hallway pressure, Fleetway sky arguments. Against those, bring intel (Tails) or team Protect (Mighty) instead of another fist. Counterplay pages: beat executioners, Fleetway, Mighty.
Map jobs
On YCR and X’s Fortress, doorway counters are the whole character. On Green Hill and Angel Island, charged punch into honest loops works if you do not greed burnout into a storm or open beach. On Not Perfect V2, glide is life and a missed counter near a bumper is a highlight reel you did not want. Use the maps hub before you blame the fist.
LMS and Rings
Knuckles LMS is a counter game. Do not donate a full-charge punch into invis. Play for the ring path using LMS and escape. If you queued him to farm shop currency, remember Rings still only come from finishing rounds — farm Rings — not from a code.
Fix binds first. Toggle sprint and put counter on a key you can hit while camera-flicking — PC controls or mobile. Fat-fingered emote during a counter window is how Knuckles becomes “C tier” in a lobby that never learned the kit.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for the searches that actually land here.
Is Knuckles good in Outcome Memories Recreation?
Yes as a 1v1 stunner and doorway peel. He is worse into mine / sky kits that refuse to commit.
How does charged punch work?
Hold to ramp. Full charge can apply burnout pressure; whiffing it is free damage for the executioner.
Can I counter in the air?
Yes in the original kit teaching — bait a glide hit into the counter window.
Knuckles or Mighty?
Mighty Protects allies. Knuckles wins selfish trades. If the lobby needs peel for a medic, take Mighty.
